Yet another Five Star review on Amazon.uk.

Excellent story that kept the pages turning. Very believable characters and I especially loved the heroine Lorne. The last page left me wanting more so hope we don't have to wait long for a sequel. Great writing and look forward to many more.

Yet another first class review for the book!

Review by: Kevin Argyle on Dec. 20, 2010 : (no rating)
Wasn’t sure about this book, but thought I’d give it a Go,

A female cop, loses her partner and best friend on the first pages, the Killer is not the kind of guy you take home to meet Daddy,

Retribution being important, this guy kills the family of anyone who crosses him, so when one of his “ Girls” a teenager, comforts another girl, he sees it as betrayal, her whole family are executed in horrific fashion, and she’s made to watch the video of it, along with the other girls to teach the a lesson,

Meanwhile, Mr Nice Guy kidnaps our Cop Heroine’s teenage daughter, and threatens to kill her,

He later kidnaps our cop lead’s father, himself an ex cop,

Well I won’t say what else happens, Don’t want to spoil the plot,

Lets just say that Melanie Comley leaves room for a sequel at the end, and why is that good … Simply put this is a brilliant intriguing thriller, Not a family book to read to the kids, but if you want an absorbing story of Kidnap, Rape, Murder and Torture, well this is certainly the book for you,

The characters develop into believable realistic people, the depravity is as realistic as it could get, but it is not all gore, there is a very well crafted story, hints of romance, marital discord and trouble with the kids, so that’s normal life right?

The author gives us our moneys worth, even though she sells it at a quarter the price it should be,

I’m waiting for the sequel, and for it to make the Best Seller List,

One you shouldn’t miss!

Impeding Justice latest 5 star review on Amazon.co.uk

I've been a good girl(?) this year, please could I have the next book in the series NOW. I have rarely come across a book that has tickled my literary tastebuds as much as this book did. In fact I was upset when I reached the last page, everyone was so believable and human. The test of a good book for me is.....it isn't a book, I was actually THERE as things unfolded.I cannot wait for the next in the series, and the next, and the next!

Momz you're a star, bless you.

Cold and miserable!

Well, I guess that winter is officially here now.
Back to writing full-time, tucked up in front of the woodburner.

Still had to do a little gardening over the weekend though, mainly tucking things up for the winter like the Agapanthus and the Hebe. And cutting down the Lavatera in case the winds damage the stems.

Too cold to walk the dogs first thing, despite all their whining, will have to wait until it warms up a bit first, if it ever does today.

Have a good day, stay warm and safe.

Things coming in three's.

It's right what they say about things happening in three's. Just another 5 star received from USA.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Thriller, November 8, 2010
This review is from: Impeding Justice (Kindle Edition)
I read this book on Authonomy and I have read over 600 books and this one stuck with me like glue. The Author draws you in holds you tight and sends you on an unforgettable ride. I love The MC'S and this is a can't put it down book, so I suggest you start it when you have no other plans...I HIGHLY recommend it, great for a gift too... Patricia aka Columbia

Thanks Patricia.

Bloomin' heck can this day get any better?

Yet another five star review.
This review is from: Impeding Justice (Kindle Edition)
I first came across Impeding Justice on Authonomy--where the Harper Collins editor reviewing it as a Gold Star winner wrote, 'This is certainly one of the better manuscripts I've read through Authonomy'--and it's an absolute pleasure to see it now available to buy.

Mel Comley has written a page-turning thriller, perfect for holiday reading. The thing that stays most strongly with me is her villain, The Unicorn -- from the very beginning the reader knows here is a bad guy who is a worthy opponent.

Impeding Justice moves fast and there's action aplenty. If you're a fan of Jack Higgins (I'm thinking of the Sean Dillon series in particular) then I expect you'd find something here to tickle your fancy.

And, I promise, you won't forget The Unicorn.

Wow, thought I'd share my first 5 star review from the USA with you all.

This review is from: Impeding Justice (Kindle Edition)
Detective Inspector Lorne Simpkins loses her partner in a gun battle between the forces of justice and her nemesis, the Unicorn, a vicious, psychopathic murderer. Thus Comley begins a riveting tale of cat and mouse. Before her team can begin to mourn their colleague's death, the Unicorn calls, demanding ransom for the Houses of Parliament. He leaves false clues, weaving a web of deception. Then Simpkins discovers a mole in their midst. The texture of this tale is gritty and violent, our heroine unique in her acerbic yet heroic drive. The Unicorn has picked a fiery foe in this satisfying crime novel.

Be still my beating heart!! :-)

Back to writing!

Well it's been a frantic past couple of weeks, what with uploading my book to Amazon Kindle and building this blogslot.

Now it really is time to get back to writing the sequel to Impeding Justice, which follows Lorne and her side-kick Tony to my adopted country France.

Hope to have the book finished sometime after Christmas, as they say, 'watch this space'.

Have a great day.

A fans view of Impeding Justice

An exhilarating first chapter that sets the tone of suspense and action immediately in this excellent crime thriller. Great characterization as we learn of Lorne's determination and hatred of her menacing nemesis, The Unicorn. This narrative reminds me of watching a good movie about tormented authorities versus an elusive, deadly criminal. Well written, interesting plot - already, compelling characters, suspenseful, and overall, well worth supporting! Best of luck with this great piece of fiction, Mel. LG.
