Find Her Alive: A gripping psychological crime series for 2020 (DS Jenna Morgan Book 1) by [Diane Saxon]

Diane Saxon's Find Her Alive.

Well this was an unexpected gem to stumble across. I've never read any Diane Saxon's books before.

Felicity is out on a walk with her beautiful Dalmatian Domino when she stumbles across a dead body. A stranger begins stalking her and her around the Ironbridge. Suddenly the man attacks her for no reason, actually, he takes a stick to her devoted dog and then attacks Fliss. She escapes him and rolls down the embankment. He chases her and kidnaps her.

Jenna is a DS, walkers alerted the police to the screams they heard around the bridge. She discovers the screams belonged to her sister. The investigation kicks off with a K9 handler and his dog discovering Domino's body.

Jenna is distraught but eager to find her sister when it becomes obvious that she has been kidnapped. Great read, highly recommended.

I've discovered a fabulous new author lately, Graeme Cumming. If you haven't read either of his wonderful novels yet, make sure you check them out soon.

Ravens Gathering by [Graeme Cumming]

My review of this cracking novel.

What a surprising read this was. Loved every page of it. Even though I’ve had an exceptionally busy week this book kept drawing me to read it. I blame the author for the bags I’ve had under my eyes since Thursday.

An intriguing read on so many levels, tension-filled plot that will have you flipping the pages quickly to its epic ending. The main question running through the readers mind has to be why? Characters who are holding on to dark secrets and some of them displaying questionable motivations throughout.

The final third of the book is where all the clues come together. There are some violent episodes to read, so be warned.

It’s hard to distinguish which genre this fits in, anything from fast-paced thriller to scary horror novel.

Superbly written, I can’t say more otherwise it will truly give the plot away.

Highly recommended!

Carrion by [Graeme Cumming]

My review of this stunning novel.

Definitely reading out of my comfort zone with this one. I met Graeme on Twitter. I had no idea what the book was about when I promised to read it. Blooming heck, his writing is amazing, atmospheric and mesmerising at times. I was absolutely gripped by the story.

It's definitely a mixture of genres anything from an adventure thriller to at times a dip into the realms of fantasy.

We meet Salin and his group of friends, each very different and all of them have a place in this engaging story. There were definitely some shocking moments throughout during their adventures.

The author did a fantastic job of making the reader feel they belonged in the story with their own lives at stake.

Highly recommended and an absolute pleasure to read.

The Last Hurrah is the tenth book in the fabulous DI Bethany Smith series. Newly published, this is a gruesome thriller series not to be missed from the talented Emmy Ellis.

The Last Hurrah: THE HOSPITAL IS HIS PLAYGROUND (DI Bethany Smith Book 10) by [Emmy Ellis]

Here's the blurb.  DI Bethany Smith has had enough. A man, dubbed The Creep, has been phoning her, saying he’s got bodies for her to find beneath the rubble. He’s been hounding her for months, and her nerves are shot. Especially when he brings DS Mike Wilkins into it, hinting her partner is in danger.

The Creep is a confused soul, forced to kill by Simon, a man who had a terrible childhood. More often than not, Simon spent time in a locked cupboard, and the wallpaper in there means he expects The Creep to do a certain thing for him every time he abducts a woman.

What is The Little Hospital, and why is it so important to The Creep?

Why does Simon insist The Creep takes his medication?

Who are the ‘visitors’, and why do they insist on returning after The Creep has killed them?

Bethany has some other questions she needs to answer. Can she continue in her job now she’s been targeted as The Creep’s plaything? Where are the bodies, and why is one of them in the canal?

And finally, is this case the last hurrah?

Here's my review. Sadly, Emmy has hinted this might be the last book in the series, I’ll be sad if it is. I love Bethany Smith, she always tackles the vilest criminals, which have obviously taken a toll on her over the years.

Another warped individual surfaces in this one, he’s worse than the others she’s dealt with in my opinion because of his agenda and the way he constantly contacts Bethany, at one point... Nope, I’m not going to spoil it for you, you’ll just have to grab a copy yourself to find out in the final book in this fabulous series.
